Two portraits of two daughters, each built through layers of photographic imagery and collage, with organic materials pressed into the surface for depth and sealed in urethane.

The goal was simple: to let the technique serve the spirit of the subject. One drawn from the tradition of the Dutch Masters, the other warm, loose, and full of light.

The first, created for Teya, draws from the tradition of the Dutch Masters. Dark grounds, a face emerging from shadow, light falling just so. Built through layers of photographic imagery and collage, with organic materials pressed into the surface for depth, then sealed in urethane, the piece carries the weight of something much older than it is.

The second, created for Hannah, trades candlelight for something looser and warmer. Built the same way, layer by layer, photographic and collaged, with organic materials worked into the surface and sealed in urethane. The palette is rich and earthy, the feeling closer to a sunlit afternoon than a dimly lit studio. Same technique, same process, a completely different spirit.
